生物滤池内的温度通常直接与臭气的气流的温度和塔设备的保温装置相关,适宜的温度有助于微生物降解臭气。反应设备的内部温度通常保持在25-40 ℃左右,温度除了对微生物有所影响,也会影响气液的传质。 

温度的提升可以降低亨利系数,加快气体的扩散速度,起到促进废气进入填料表面的生物膜的作用。而设备通常设置有保温装置且降解反应为放热,所以设备内部的温度往往稍高于预设温度。 

降解臭气的菌种大多数是好氧微生物,因此, 塔设备内部的氧气浓度会影响好氧微生物对臭气 的降解,而使用的生物填料等对氧气的塔设备中的 氧气浓度也会有所影响,从而使生物滤池内氧气的浓度远远高于 臭气 的浓度。
