Hydrogen fuel cells are a clean energy technology whose exhaust gas is mainly water vapour. In a hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen and oxygen are electrochemically reacted to produce electricity and water. This means that hydrogen fuel cell vehicles do not produce tailpipe emissions and only release water vapour.
