污水厂运行时产生的恶臭污染物形成恶臭气体,特别是在预处理段、生化处理区和污泥处理车间会影响大气环境质量,对人类健康、社会稳定、经济建设等产生一系列的危害。臭气的净化方法有多种,主要包括生物法、吸附法、化学洗涤法和低温等离子体方法。其中,生物除臭技术不但除臭效果好、成本低,而且基本没有二次污染。

大部分恶臭污染物都容易引起不良反应和中毒,不利于污水厂及周边的经济建设。恶臭污染物排放到大气中,在光或大气中某些微粒的作用下与其它物质发生反应,引起酸雨、雾霾、光化学烟雾等环境问题。另外,污水厂恶臭气体具有气量大、污染物组成复杂、恶臭污染物浓度低等特点。为降低运行成本、减少对环境的影响和能源消耗,已成为污水厂发展的必然趋势。

 

除了微生物的生物降解外,生物除臭技术还需要吸附和吸收,使恶臭污染物进入微生物细胞并被生物降解。常见的终端生物除臭技术分为生物过滤、生物洗涤和活性污泥扩散。

 

目前,我国生物法除臭技术的应用现状如下:当采用土壤生物法、生物滤池法、生物滴滤池法、生物洗涤法等终端生物法除臭技术时,通常需要密封在污水处理段,以便于恶臭气体的收集和输送,从而减少污水厂直接排放到大气环境中的恶臭污染物。

 

土壤生物法广泛应用于早期建设的污水厂。随着城市土地需求的增加,土壤生物法不再适合大规模应用。生物滤池法和生物滴滤池法已成为应用最广泛的终端生物除臭技术。当单一终端生物除臭技术难以满足排放要求时,往往采用源减排法或等离子法、活性炭吸附法等终端物理化学除臭技术或各种终端生物除臭技术作为除臭技术,特别是化学污水处理车间或污水厂

 

为了降低除臭成本和占地面积,便于维护和管理,通常根据污水厂的结构布局,密封收集和处理恶臭气体。结合生物除臭技术,开始在污水厂应用。也就是说,基于活性污泥回流法的污水处理系统全过程除臭技术应用于新建污水厂污水厂的升级改造工程中,污泥处理系统仍采用终端生物除臭技术控制恶臭污染。
